Carol Atchison, CPA 

Carol has been providing public accounting services in Charlottesville since 1983, originally under the name C. A. Atchison CPA P.C. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting from Michigan State University in 1978 and later received a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce in 1985.

With more than four decades of experience, Carol has built lasting relationships with individuals and small businesses throughout Central Virginia. She remains actively involved in mentoring the firm's accountants, and in 2024 welcomed Kostas Vassalos as a partner — continuing the firm's long-standing commitment to developing strong accounting talent.

Kostas Vassalos, CPA

Kostas joined Atchison & Vassalos, CPAs in May 2023. He graduated from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce in 2017 with bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting.

Kostas began his career with Ernst & Young (EY) in New York, where he gained experience working with clients across a variety of industries in both audit and tax. After returning to Charlottesville in 2021, he spent time helping with his family's restaurant before joining Atchison & Vassalos, CPAs. In 2024, he partnered with Carol Atchison to continue building a firm focused on providing personalized tax and accounting services to individuals and small businesses throughout Central Virginia.
